Impact Cubed takes home trophy at Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards 2026
Impact Cubed has been named Index Provider of the Year at the Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards 2026, as decided by a panel of over 40 investors and industry experts chosen for their knowledge, objectivity and credibility.
What the award recognises
The Sustainable Investment Awards recognise excellence across sustainable investment, with winners selected by an independent judging panel drawn from across the institutional investment community.
For Impact Cubed, the recognition reflects a decade of work building index capability on the conviction that sustainable indices should be held to the same investment standards as any other institutional product, founded on rigorous data, disciplined risk management, and outcomes that are measurable and verifiable.
"The sustainable index market is at a crossroads. Investors are reassessing products that added more active risk than their sustainability objectives warranted. The question is whether the answer is lower ambition or better construction. We built this organisation on the latter. It's good to see the market reach the same conclusion."

How we build indices differently
For many investors, the assumption remains that to achieve meaningful sustainability outcomes, you must accept significant active risk. Impact Cubed was built to disprove this.
Our indices are built to client and strategy-specific objectives. Improvement targets, exclusion thresholds, and constraints on tracking error, sector and country exposure are all configurable. What remains constant is the construction discipline: rules-based, data-driven, and reliant on quantifiable sustainability metrics rather than subjective scores or ratings.
The flagship Solactive iCubed Global Sustainability Index illustrates what that discipline makes possible. It targets substantial improvements across carbon intensity, water use, waste generation and SDG alignment relative to its parent benchmark, while maintaining tracking error below 1% annualised. Proof that sustainability and risk are not mutually exclusive.
"Winning Index Provider of the Year reflects our belief that all indices - sustainable or otherwise - should be held to high, investible standards. The data has to be rigorous, the risk management has to be deeply considered, and the outcomes have to be measurable. To us, those aren't nice-to-haves, they're the baseline. What we've built is an index capability where sustainability isn't an afterthought, it's designed to be an integrated input and part of the outcomes. That distinction matters, and it's great to see it recognised."
